Show notes: Episode 9:  Manisha Vadgama, Esq. “Going Back to Cali”

Manisha was teased as a child for looking different than her peers.  This sent her on a lifelong crusade to fight for fairness and equality.  She eventually decided that law school would be the best path for her.  Manisha talks about the California Bar, criminal law and justice in Los Angeles, what makes a good DA, the OJ trial, and much more. 

Bio: 

Manisha started off as an employment law defense attorney doing workers compensation.  She then got hired with the District Attorney’s office in Ventura, California where she worked for close to 5 years. Then left to go back home and work for the Los Angeles County District Attorney office for 5 years where she was prosecuting felony cases.  Seeking a new challenge, and a new direction, she now works at the DOJ in special prosecution.  She prosecutes anything from political corruption, political fraud, white collar crimes, organize retail thefts.  This is also the unit that Governor Newsom recently changed to handle certain officer involved shooting cases.

Links:  Manisha’s husband, Edward Lara is an advisor for a student organization.
