Ricardo and Rene tell us about what it was like to attend law school together as a married couple, and study for the bar. Then they share some stories from their career about prosecuting criminal offenses for the Florida State Attorney’s Office and defending insurance companies in court.
Bio: Ricardo and Rene both attended the University of Western Florida and obtained their JD from Thomas M Cooley Law School Ricardo, has worked as an Assistant State Attorney for the Florida State Attorney’s Office and as Assistant General Counsel for the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigations. He was also assigned to the 9th Judicial Circuit’s Violent Crimes Unit. In these roles he has investigated and prosecuted cases involving large scale multinational Drug Trafficking organizations, Human Trafficking, Money Laundering, and Attempted Murder. Rene: clerked for the Honorable Paul Rasmussen of the 1st Judicial Circuit of Florida, following her clerkship she worked as an Assistant State Attorney for the Florida Office of State Attorney, and has since transitioned into Insurance Defense where she works as a Trial Attorney for AllState.
